Kim Hyun-Jeong

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate how collage group art therapy affects self-integration of the elderly males living alone. The subjects of the study were 14 elderly males living alone using the welfare center of A city, and 7 experimental groups and 7 control groups. Collage group art therapy was conducted to the subjects from February 26 to June 25, 2019, once a week for 110 minutes and 18 sessions. As a measurement tool, the elderly self-integration scale was pre- and post-programmed. For data processing, an independent sample t-test was performed on the post self-integration scores of the experimental groups and the control groups. Significant changes in the sense of self-integration consistent with one supervisor were presented in the records for each session. The results of the study were as follows: First, as a result of collage group art therapy on the study subjects, there was a significant change in self-integration. Second, in the change of self-integration by session, the subjects of the study showed improved self-integration, such as feeling satisfied with their past life, accepted life and death in old age, and had an amicable and inclusive interpersonal relationship within the group and in daily life. Therefore, collage group art therapy is effective in improving the sense of self-integration of the elderly males living alone, and it is meaningful that it provides basic data to the clinical field.
